TENNIS at The Club
The Keene Country Club provides two fine courts for use by all tennis buffs. The tennis facilities are located beside the pool area, which is convenient for players who feel the need to keep a watchful eye on their children. It also has a view of the 9th green and fairway, and offers outstanding scenery during the foliage season.
The Club has an excellent Tennis Professional to supervise, guide and teach you and your family. Group lessons are available for children of all ages throughout the summer and are included at no additional charge. There are many tournaments scheduled during the season.

WELCOME BACK!!
I want to thank all the members for another wonderful tennis season last year. Spring is back and that means tennis season is here! It is time to dust off those racquets and get out to the courts. If you do not have the right equipment or just looking to update, now is the perfect time to do so. Don’t know where to get new gear? Well look no further. In order to better service the members here at the Keene Country Club, I will be selling Wilson tennis racquets, shoes, bags, clothes, accessories, and will also have a racquet demo program. I am also available anytime for racquet stringing and private lessons. All KCC group lessons will start the week of June 29th. Please see class descriptions and times below.
Juniors (Tuesday, June 29th – Thursday, August 20th)
Junior tennis had a great turnout last year and I look forward to hopefully seeing even more children this year. On June 1, the sign-up sheet for Junior Lessons will be posted. It will be taken down on June 18, and the class list will be posted the next day. Lessons will meet every Tuesday and Thursday, and if your children have signed up and are not away, it’d be great to see them at the courts! The lesson times are below,
Munchkins (3-5 years old) - 10:30am-11:00am
Aces (6-8 years old) - 11:15am-12:00pm
Topspins (9-11 years old) - 12:00pm-12:45pm
Hot Shots (older children who can serve and rally) - 1:00pm-2:00pm
Adults (Monday, June 28th – Thursday, August 20th)
Stroke of the Week Clinic will be held every Thursday morning from 9am-10am. A Stroke of the week will be posted each week at the tennis shed with fun and exciting drills to follow. There is no sign-up for this class, just come and brush up on your tennis skills!
Back by popular demand, Cardio Tennis will be held twice a week, once in the morning for all you early risers and once in the afternoon for all of you who work or prefer the afternoon. Cardio Tennis will be held every Monday from 8am-9am and every Wednesday from 4:30pm-5:30pm. This is a fun, upbeat tennis fitness program done to music and is open to all abilities. All balls are fed by Cali, so you don’t need to worry about hitting to another player. This class is great exercise and good for your tennis game. There is not sign-up for this class. Just come to have fun and be prepared to have a great workout with a wonderful group of people!
An Adult Beginner Clinic will be held on Wednesdays after Cardio Tennis from 5:45pm-6:45pm, so feel free to warm up in Cardio Tennis and stay for the Adult Beginner Clinic after. There is no sign up for this clinic.
Saturday, July 11th: The Arthur English Memorial Mixed Doubles Tournament. This tournament has been a great success in the past and everyone who participated had a great time. IT is a round-robin member-member or member-guest tournament. Play will begin around 10am. Prized will be awarded, so bring your friends and family and enjoy a day of friendly competition! A sign-up will be posted from June 1st-July 8th, and the draw will be posted on July 9th. Remember it’s never too early to put a racquet in your child’s hand or too late for you to pick up the game! I look forward to seeing everyone at the tennis courts this year!!!
